Evidence Architecture
Global Evidence Database
The AAIRC evidence system keeps the claim, material, method, population, result, limitation and source identifier together.
Traditional & Human-Use Evidence
Country, community, plant part, preparation, use category and evidence grade.
MT-06Safety Evidence
Test system, material, exposure, observed result and human relevance.
MT-08Cultivation Evidence
Seed, salinity, nursery and establishment findings.
Evidence grades
Primary evidenceOriginal studies, historical documents, authoritative taxonomy or verified specimens.
Reliable documented evidenceGovernment reports, academic monographs and clear ethnobotanical surveys.
Secondary or incomplete evidenceUseful records requiring primary-source follow-up.
Unresolved evidenceMaterial identity, attribution or citation limitations remain significant.
How modifiers are used
Plus (+)
The record is stronger than the base grade because identity, source access or documentation is unusually complete.
Minus (−)
The record broadly meets the grade but retains a stated limitation, such as incomplete edition, identity or method detail.
Combined grade
A notation such as A−/B+ shows that different parts of the same record meet different evidence thresholds. The record notes should explain why.
Important: the grade describes source quality and traceability. It does not grade therapeutic effectiveness, commercial suitability or general safety.
